6 Signs of Emotional Violence You Experience Without You Realizing

1. He often asks you to cancel plans that you have made with friends or family.
He said he cared, even though what he was actually doing was a form of emotional violence. Actually, asking you to cancel the plan to go with someone else is still reasonable if done once or twice. However, if it's become a habit, then it's time for you to voice your rights to him.

2. He is angry when you confide in your close friends.
He did not want others to smell his disrespectful behavior. For this reason, he wants to make sure stories about your unhealthy relationship will not be heard by others. He is afraid that your friend will advise you to leave him.

3. He always criticizes whatever you do.
Not only criticizing, he also demeans activities, decisions, and principles of your life. In essence, he always looks at whatever negatives you do. This is done to make you feel insecure so you won't leave it.

4. He always brings up your mistakes.
You're just an ordinary human, so it's only natural that you make a mistake. Always bringing up the mistakes you've done is one sign of emotional violence. He wants to make you feel inferior and fail as a partner.

5. He acts as a victim and blames you for everything that happens.
He never admitted his mistakes and always twisted the facts. Even if he does something bad, he will make it look like you're wrong. He will say that he will not do that if you love him more, and the like.

6. He becomes very upset when discussing his behavior.
Not only difficult to talk to, he can be angry if you discuss about his behavior. He feels you are wrong and he is right. Sometimes, he acknowledges his mistakes, apologizes, and promises to change. However, guess what? He will not change.
